We have 25 years of experience as a surface finishing provider. We started in 1984 as an Electroplating Service Provider (ESP) to manufacturing industries involved in the production of basic items such as bicycle parts, drum caps and metal casings.

Since then, we have evolved into a specialist in surface treatment services. Using state-of-the-art technology, we have achieved a leadership position in the high precision metal finishing industry, both in terms of size of operations and quality of services provided.

The key milestones in CEL’s corporate history are:

1984: Incorporation of CEL Coatings as a private limited company in Singapore

1985: Zinc electroplating line commissioned

1991: CEL approved for listing on SESDAQ. Listing shelved due to the Gulf War

1993: ISO 9002 certification achieved

1995: First automated Electroless Nickel/Gold plating line commissioned

1997: Second automated EN plating line commissioned

2000: Automated Passivation line commissioned

2001: Third automated EN plating line commissioned; achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification

2002: Achieved Singapore Quality Class (SQC) certification

2003: Fourth automated EN electroplating line commissioned
          Achieved Integrated Management System (IMS) qualification (ISO 9001:2000)
          Achieved qualification ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
          Achieved Certified on the Job Training Centre (COJTC) and People Developer Certification

2008: Start up of China operations

2010: Breakthrough into coatings for the medical industry
